New Year's Eve

Grandma Maureen and Grandpa Berry

Brandon,Hayden,Dallen,Mom and Grandparents
To start my New Years  Eve my Grandpa Berry called and invited my family to Sizzlers which is their favorite place to eat.  It was a great lunch, my Grandma Maureen talked  more then ever to me about  how happy she was that I was serving a mission. Later that even I got all done up to go out with Hailee and Skyler to a YSA dance. The dance wasn't the best  the d.j. was horrible and I was very upset that he was playing the same lame songs over. Luckily there was a cute guy there that I eyed the whole time waiting to dance with him. After waiting almost the whole night I went over and asked him. His name was Justin he was 6'5" a hockey player and had a hurt back so he was only able to dance to a slow song. It was the best song of the whole night!! To bad he didn't agree .

Today my BFC( best friend cousin) Danielle turned the big 25 and she isn't excited about the number she was turning. However she was excited to receive the birthday gifts and birthday praise for the next few days.  So to help her not admit her age we went to Classic Skating which was a blast to skate this time with none of my little campers on my legs. Skyler and I kept racing around the rink to prepare for the Olympics and burn calories!! It was a great evening and week spending time with all my cousins and friends!!

Christmas

I thought this Christmas would be quiet and laid back since the twins are 14 years old and boy was I wrong. At 7:30 a.m. there they all were jumping on my bed telling me to wake up, I couldn't believe it they were so excited to open presents. After we opened all the presents my mom noticed that Dallen was missing one of his gifts so she asked him " are you sure there nothing under the tree for you"?  He replied " nope there isn't". My mom was so confused she didn't know where the game Skate 3 was that he had wanted so bad. She then asked " did you open the Skate 3 game" He said " oh yes I opened that a long time ago like at 5:30 a.m.". We all laughed so hard, this is why he was so happy the whole time he was opening gifts and wasn't really in a hurry. He had the game he wanted downstairs loading already. Later that evening Roland and  I headed to my dad where we opened gifts and attempted to play the new  monopoly build that we received. I had a wonderful Christmas and am so grateful that I could spend with my family.

Christmas Aprons

Amanda, Josi, Shalise, Savannah, Alexa, Danielle and Brandy

Me, Amanda and Danielle

After a long drive home in the rain we finally made it back to Utah.  For the Berry Christmas party we all headed out to Cedar Fort to my grandparents where we had a big dinner and  opened up presents from the grandparents which turned out to be aprons and wow they were all beautiful. Then the 24th was here and I was not ready I had only done shopping for my mom, lucky for me Amanda still needed to go so we hit the mall the day before Christmas as I tried to get all my shopping done. We went to Provo mall which was the perfect stop I was able to get every one's gifts. That evening we headed to Thanksgiving Point to see the  Christmas lights which is a tradition we started a  few years ago with my mom's brother's family and then had dinner. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve

Grandparents

Kedar and Me

Grandma Peggy  and Grandpa Burnett

After a long day of packing and fighting with my brothers and it raining, I was finally all packed up and ready to leave my apartment. We drove down to the Burnett grandparents home to have dinner with them. My grandma was so excited I was coming and wanted to do a lot more then just eat, but because loading the truck took a lot more time then expected we only had a little time to be with them. I found out that my grandma isn't going to be able to come to my graduation walk in May which makes me sad to hear. So it was good to be able to have dinner with her one more time since she wont be back till August as she heads to Mongolia. My cousin Kedar was able to join us for dinner which was great since I have seen him since he was 3 years old and wow he looks like my dad did when he was younger.

Last Day in California

Hayden, me and Kade

Sister Ward and Me

Mom and Dallen
Sunday being a day full of good byes hugs and tears( mostly from Bro. Ward) as I prepared to leave California, I was ready to have some fun on my last day there. My mom and I dropped the boys off at a movie because they were being a little annoying. We then went to meet Sis. Ward for lunch at Wood Ranch which is an awesome restaurant known for their trip tip and rolls. After that we went bowling at Matador Bowling alley because of the great special they were having. We then ended the long day with Rebox movies. I am so thankful for my mom and for her driving all the way down to help me move. I am also grateful for the twins and Kade for coming and helping me pack up everything even though they were a little obnoxious at times.

Metcalf's

Breanne and Megan

After the posse and my roommates leaving Thursday and me sitting in my house all Friday as we got new carpet I was ready to get out of the house the next day. I drove over to Megan's home and helped her and Breanne decorate her Christmas tree. Then  later that evening we attended two ward Christmas parties  because the singles ward had great food from a restaurant called Reds and the family ward was having Megan and her mom sing. I was so excited to have an eventful day as I was waiting for my family to arrive . It was a great day I totally forget that its Christmas when I am in California because its either very warm or raining. This year I was busy with finals and packing that I didn't even make time to put up my own Christmas decorations. I am so thankful that I was able to live so close to the Metcalf family for days like this when I want to be around family .

December 16th was the last day for the posse to be together in Ridge so we decided to try to do something different so we went bowling. It turned out perfect we got there a little after 2 o clock which allowed us to receive this awesome bowling deal of $7.99 for shoes,2 hours of bowling , a small drink, french fries and 12 tokens to the arcade!! We were so excited because shoes alone were $4.  After a good three hours  everyone winning one round of bowling and playing the basketball game and the motorcycle game we went to dinner. To end the night we went to my last RS meeting with the girls from the ward as we watched Elf at one of the girls home.

Last Northridge Elders

Elder Tafur and Elder Saena and their cool bridge hug

Elder Tafur aka Columbia and Elder Saena aka Alaska are the last elders that I worked with in Northridge. I am so grateful for all the elders that served in the Northridge area and for pushing me to become a better person and for allowing me to do spilts with them. I loved working with  these missionaries and can't wait to be serving full time!!

My extra calling

With my two callings of FHE Co Chair and RS Meeting Coordinator I have been taking tons of pictures so I decided to take the two bulletin boards we have in the building and keep them updated. I love doing this little extra calling even though I sometimes get a little behind,  I at least I have recent pictures of the people in the ward. Before I left I was determined to get the bulletin boards updated so luckily Syd and Katy were nice enough to help me one night for 2 hours to put up some new pictures. Thanks girls!

POSSE!!

Triple A, Patty P, KiloWatts,and SydtheShiz

Sis and Bro Patton
When school started I got to know Katy Wilson and Sydney Rosell from my ward because they needed a ride to church which I was fine with since they lived right by me. It turned out that we got along really well and became really good friends. We ended up going everywhere together because they didn't have a car. We were hanging out one day in September and some how came about looking up our names on Urban Dictionary and the word posse which stated "your crew, your hommies, a group of friends, people who may or may not have your back".  (We begin laughing so hard). We decided to tell Brother Patton who is our second counselor in the bishopric about our day and finding the word posse and how that's what we were going to call ourselves. So Bro. Patton wanting to be cool asked to join the posse so we let him and his wife in and then decided we need nicknames. Katy and Syd decided upon the nicknames fast for everyone except for mine which took them a whole month. So here are everyones Posse's Names-
  •  Bro. Patton- Patty P (short for Patton and he's Irish)
  •  Sis. Patton- B.O.C.(Bride of Chucky, because her hubby's a redhead)
  •  Katy- KiloWatts (her initials KW)
  •  Sydney- SydtheShiz (because she so cool)
  •  Tela- Triple A (apparently my bra size)
I am so glad that I got to know these two girls they have truly been great friends to me this semester. I am so grateful for them and all the wonderful memories that we created this fall and will truly miss them. I love you both tons, thanks for being such great support to me through all my hard and good times and for helping me with my callings.  Thank you Bro and Sis Patton for treating me like a daughter/younger sister ;) You both have helped me grow my testimony over this last year. I am so thankful for everything you have done for me and will miss you both tons. Thank you for all the great laughs, temple trips, dinners, and long stories!! Thank you for looking out for me and for trying to find me a guy in the ward Patty P!!  Thank you POSSE for a wonderful 2010 year you all are extremely important to me and have helped me become spiritually stronger. Love you all!!

Northridge 1st Missionaries

Me and Elder Johnson

Elder Johnson

Elder Bills and Me

Being in the Northridge 3rd Ward has allowed me to become really involved with missionary lessons. All the missionaries in this area are so awesome and have truly helped me decided to serve a mission. I am so grateful for all the friendship they have shown me. Elder Johnson serves in our family ward that we share the building with and he is the one of the most happiest elders I have met. He always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude. We were joking around  how I have only seen him sad twice and once was last week which he remember every detail on why he was upset and today of course because he is being transferred. Elder Bills is his companion and he is more new, but we have some great stories involving Katy's attitude about Elder Bills replacing Elder Fairbanks. (haha ) Elder Bills is awesome he is from Michagan compared to a lot of the elders who are from Utah. He gets a little mad that I'm so tall because he is only 5'6" 3/4 or something like he stated once its because he's half mexican. hahaha
Thank you Elder Johnson & Bills for being such a great influence and for serving a mission!

Holiday Boat Parade

Jami, Syd and Me
Jen, Nate, Mavi and Steve
Our Lights

Last years lights
Cutest Couple!!

I  tried to be more bold this year and ask guys out, lucky for me Jami had this activity planned to go to Newport and take a boat ride on Balboa Lake to look at all the Christmas lights on the boats and homes for 2 hours. So I think this will be a great chance to ask this new guy out in the ward and if it gets awkward other people will be there. So I nervously call the guy and ask him to go and he says YES!! I'm all giddy and excited and can't wait to see him that evening to talk about the details for Saturday. As we're at ward prayer he end's up leaving with out talking to me first like he promised. Come to find out he has a family emergency and headed back home to Las Vegas. I was so sad, but  he was a gentlemen and asked for a rain check. Luckily Katy was going out of town so I was able to ask Sydney to be my date, which she of course said yes. We drive an 1 1/2 down to Newport and get on this nice boat with a big group from our ward and head out on the lake. Sad to say not everyone got the memo that that all lights need to be up today so there were a lot of  boats and homes with out lights. However, the group we were with and my date Syd made the night so fun and we a great night!!  After we headed to Carls Jr. to get some fuel in our stomach because that boat ride was a little too long and then headed back home.
Thanks for a WONDERFUL DATE
Sydney Lynn Rosell!!
