Discovery Park

I took the boys to the Discovery Park where, Isaac and Joe had a blast going down the slides and making new friends. Isaac wanted to get in the Police car so I told them to get in and look at me and smile, but Isaac just kept moving. He decided to go lay on the hood as he placed his hands under his chin and smiled at me. Geeze these boys are cute!

Read-a-thon

I started reading Hunger Games at the beginning of March and couldn't really get into so I decided to read a few other books as I postponed to read that one. I was able to finish a really good book by Rachael Renee Anderson called Luck of the Draw! I loved it so much it was so cute, girly, and Mormon.  So I decided to go out and buy another book by her called Divinely Designed which I read for 5 hours straight. It was the first book I had ever read in a day, it was so much fun the book felt so real. I couldn't find any more books by this author so I decided to finish Hunger Games this weekend. Today I can gladly say I finished the book. I LOVED IT !! I'm so mad I didn't finish it earlier, it was so good. I can't wait to start the second one.

I was able to go for the first time to the Festival of Colors to welcome Spring with my cousins and friends. This is the real definition for this celebration:
"Every year, Hindus greet the turn of winter into spring with a splash of color -- in some areas, a geyser of color. They call their celebration the festival of Holi, and Hindus across India and throughout the world share prayer, camaraderie, special food, and a general sense of mischief as they douse each other in dyes and colored water. The large festival has roots to many Hindu legends associated with the triumph of good over evil. One of the best-known stories tells the tale of the demoness Holika, who tried to kill Prahlad, the son of the demon king Hiranyakashyap, for refusing to worship his father. Instead, Holika is consumed in flames, which is replayed each year with bonfires and effigies, before the celebrants break out the hues and cries of the festival".
It was fun and a very unique experience of just laughing and singing the Krishna song as we threw chalk at each other.

Called to Serve..

I was visiting home getting my shots for my mission when my Bishop pulled my aside on Sunday to tell me my letter was in the mail. So I stayed the week waiting for my letter to arrive which it did on Wednesday  around 11:30 a.m. I started to freak out I couldnt believe that it was finally here, that I had the anwer of where I was to serve right in my hands. I had to go hide it from myself as I tried to stay busy trying to wait for 7:00 pm to come so I could open it with everyone there.  It was finally ten to seven and no one was at the Berry home were I was to open the letter, I began to freak out. Here I had been waiting since 11:30 to open this and no one was around. Finally right at seven everyone showed up I was freaking out even more because the time was here to open it.

Sister Burnett you have been called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chile Antofagasta mission, spanish speaking. Report to the Provo MTC June 29,2011

Las Vegas

Marli, Megan, Me

Megan, Marli, and I headed to Vegas for their roommate Kim's wedding. It was a fun little road trip with the girls. We arrived an hour early before the reception started so we headed to Walmart to kill time. This Walmart was GHETTO so we left after being there only for a few minutes. Anyways Kim and Alex's wedding was so pretty and crafty just like Kim's personality. Her reception was in her neighbors yard which was a few blocks from the Las Vegas Temple.  So after the wedding we stopped by the Temple which was my first time visiting, it was so pretty I wish we could've gone inside.

My Papers Are In

I am not sure if you all know, but after a very spiritual year in 2010 with tons of missionary work being the third missionary and watching so many neat people get baptized I have chosen to serve a MISSION. (If you want to know more details of my experiences of 2010 you should look back through my blog and you can read all my great little missionary experiences that I had). So I started my mission papers back in November and had to post pone some of them as I was finishing up with school and moving. I have recently finished all my paperwork and had my last interview with President Top.President Top has sent my papers in last week, so now I am starting the count down of when I will receive my call. If you would like to make a guess to where I will serve let me know and I will put you on my Missionary map!! I am so very grateful for all the amazing missionary work that I was able to do last year and can't wait to go out and be serving a full time mission as
 SISTER BURNETT!
