Last Day at Orem Elementary

Today was my last day as a teacher at Orem elementary. It was a very sad and hard day to say goodbye to all my wonderful students past and present. I loved every moment here at Orem and can't say enough in words how grateful I am for all the great co-workes that became friends and great memories I have of this place.

Vernal Trip

This weekend we had the chance to visit Hauns' mission President and Sister Nelson in Vernal. We had a lovely time attending the temple and taking a drive out in the country. It was a great weekend to meet two very important people who have shaped Hauns' testimony.

Red Ribbon week SURPRISE!

Today was the last day for Drug Free week, so I came to school with crazy hair to participate with the school activities they were having. I sent Hauns a photo of me saying "drugs are crazy" in the morning. After bringing my kids in after lunch I was called to the office to meet with my principal. So I left my kids working in their journals and kept the classroom door open. My principal was telling me about my upcoming evaluation which was unusual. I then headed back to class to find that my door was closed. I began to get nervous not knowing what the kids would be doing in there when I returned. ( crazy hair, birthday and soda was part of the day) I opened the door to find my class standing at the front holding a piece of paper. They then hurried and lifted the paper. I couldn't read it because I was confused on why they were there. I then noticed my friend Jenna Henderson in the corner looking at me with her phone. Then Hauns came around the corner of the classroom slowly and then fell to his knee and proposed! So I said YES!!

Tennis Date

Parker, Natalie, Me and Hauns

Tonight I had the chance to play tennis for the second time in my life and I struggled. I had a hard time figuring out how to use the racket and having patience. It  was good night though as we competed against Parker and Natalie (Hauns' cousin).

Hermana Reyes

I found out this week that my cute Chilean companion Hermana Camilla Reyes moved to Provo so her husband can attend the MBA program at BYU. So I set up a dinner date with this cute girl as soon as I could. We met at her house and ate delicious completos and spoke in Spanish the entire time! It was so neat to sit and have a conversation so deep in Spanish and understand every word, after being home from the mission for 2 1/2 years now. I am so excited to have this girl here in my life to continue this friendship and to practice my Spanish. Hermana Reyes is also pregnant so it will be a blast to watch her become a mother! I am so thankful for this girl and can't wait for our next adventure together!

Brereton Eagle Scouts

Landon,Hannah, Jesse, Josh, Hauns, Kim and Jeff

Tonight I had the privilege of watching Landon (the youngest boy of the Brereton family) receive his Eagle Scout. It was a beautiful ceremony as I watched each sibling stand and share thoughts about Landon and how proud they are of him for receiving his eagle. It was a great night to watch a family this close stand and celebrate this achievement of the youngest sibling. It was a fabulous event to be apart of as all five Brereton men stood and saluted the flag as an Eagle Scout.

Graceland

So we made it to Graceland in time to see the planes, however not enough time to tour his house. So we visited the gift shop and a small timeline building about Elvis Presley. It was a lot of fun to be there during Elvis Presley week. We saw tons of fans and look a likes of The King walking around and performing.
