July 29 Letter

Hola Familia,
Como le va? So last Friday night me and Hermana Butler were called to the front desk and they told us we had to move again. yep that's right number two!!! So we loaded up that night and moved to the fourth of our building and the next day sat and unpacked for an hour. ah no fun. This week has been pretty great I loved our devotional one about pioneers and how we are all pioneers with our missions and other one was about the holy ghost. I realize i don't ever give thanks to Heavenly Father so I have been doing that lately. another devotional we had was about us magnifying who we are and becoming the best missionary ever. Stephen Allen director here in the MTC gave it. It was so neat he had tons of video clips and pictures he used during his talk. Very nice.
I ran into Elder Holmes the first day he got here and Elder Burke its been so fun running into Elder Burke all over. Um we went to the temple today for the first time, It was so pretty and relaxing and so nice to see our zone of elders all dressed in white. Sister Jolley our counselors wife let me give her money for some abreva that she snuck in for me so nice. It has helped but i still have a cold sore. I meet the cutest french Canadian redhead the other . I love it here I meet some many different people from all over the world. The elders I play volleyball with our leaving Monday, I am super sad I hope someone else will want to play with me. We got a new district in our zone so this will be fun to meet some new people. Did I mention our first day here we didn't know where to sit so we sat with elders from Russia. Come to find out everyone sits with there district at a certain table and act weird when you aren't in their district and you sit by them. So after two days of getting weird looks we now sit with our district and zone. I have had some hard days and its weird how it will come out of no where that's when I have to tell myself to have a good day from here on. My companion and i have had a few good mock lessons lately so were slowly getting better. It has finally hit me that i am with someone all day 24/7. yeah not so bueno all the time.
So this morning we got back to our house and find a note saying we have to move again. Yep that's right we get to move Tuesday the 4th. No reason, ah yeah I'm so annoyed don't they know how hard it is to move and unpack all our stuff and hang pictures. luckily it is the same building back down to the second floor. Two elders in our district have been sick and then Hermana Low and Mapa got sick and Butler got the sneezes luckily not me.
Um yes there should be a 2 dollar charge I used my card the other day. Can you mail me Lisa and Grandpa Berry address. Can you use my phone to contact Helen Tisserand and get her address. That is so exciting about Whitney tell her congrats. And yes that is were JaNae is going. Can you make sure that through dearelder that you do the print off not the email one so i get them daily. I'm glad Roland like my letter and no I have heard from them. Dad did you get my letters and the health paper filled out okay? Mom can you find me some cute shirts that are round necked and have a sleeve on them they don't like the tshirts from down east they say the shoulder isn't covered enough. And will you just read order the shoes in 11.5 m and I'll stretch them. I'm sorry you are sick take your vitamins daily and exercise. ..
Yo Amo ustedes, agradedcias por la cerro.

July 22 Letter

Hola Familia,

So sorry about last week I accidentally deleted all that I type so don't think I was writing anyone except for you!! I have had a very spiritual week our teachers friend came in Jacob Reis he works here in the MTC and he gave us two really nice spiritual thoughts on the purpose of being here and how every object in the world can be connected back to a principle of the gospel. The temple has been closed for cleaning so we finally get to go in this week I'm super excited . None of our district has been so it will be really great experience for us all.  We had a great fireside on Sunday from President Sonne and his wife they were so cute and pushed us all to make goals in different areas so that we can greater success!!  We had our last temple walk with all our district Elders Lund and Stout  left Tuesday to Guatemala so now there is only ten of us which is nice in the classroom cause it is so tiny in there. Did I tell you that we have service every Wed at 6:15 which is nice, I like cause I get to be alone for awhile and gather my thoughts and give back to the MTC. Having a companeria around 24/7 is a little tiring after awhile.
We had a great partner up activity where we asked a deep question that we have and the other person prays and searches for it which Elder Patterson was mine. He is so deep into the gospel and so knowledgeable I was glad to have him find my answer in 2 Nephi 26.  On Tuesday we have devotionals President  Melvin Hammond and his wife he from the seventy. They were president in the Bolivia Mission and so they had to learn Spanish and it was crazy how strong there  testimony was about the Book of Mormon. they still read it today together in Spanish and they are way older. It makes me realize that I can do this I am only 23  and this learning a new language should be easy I mean its Spanish not taglag like Katie. My mock lessons we do are good some days and not so good others but I can feel myself growing and changing each time. Its weird how I think in Spanish first sometimes and spell a lot in Spanish . My English is starting to leave which is good.  I started reading the books that Campbells giving me . I started with Our search for Happiness by Russell Ballard, It is so good and detailed and just straight forward I think you all should read it.  Yesterday was a wonderful day My personal study time was so peaceful and focused and my language study time went great. We decided to make a game called translator ed where we whisper to a person in ingles and they translated to the other person in espanol of course. I like because it keeps me on my toe and have think how to say it and then listen to what they are saying in detail.  I LOVE IT.
Um so how is home? How is everything? Yes I did  receive your packages and dear elder thanks much the chocolate is way good the shoes where kind of small but I gave them to Hermana Mapa so she says thanks. Mom I have told you my companeria is Hermana Butler from Firth Idaho. She is 21 a student at Byu Idaho. She is one of eight children and is very closed in with her emotions so I try to help here express her feelings through our companion inventory. I have told you all how much food is here it is crazy it  is a buffet I hope that I'm not gaining weight. Um  I saw Elder Craig Holmes and Jordan Burke. Its crazy seeing people from home here. I also saw Brock Twiggs a few weeks ago that was weird too.

Love you all!!

Talk to you soon

July 2nd Letter

Mom and Dad,
Ah it is soooooo weird that I am here in the MTC but everything is going pretty good. I love my companion Hermana Butler she is very independent and sweet, but kind of a strict about some little rules. I'm sharing the room with two other sisters serving in our same mission Hermanas Low and Mapa and they both are way down to earth and easy going so that is nice. I have so many different feeling all day . I feel good, stress, upset, happy, and overwhelmed all in one day. The first day was crazy I felt like cattle being pushing into every direction not knowing was going to happen around each corner. I love my district 42 D we have three set of elders serving in the Santiago Chile Mission and one set serving in Guatemala. I haven't really cried hard yet, just a few tears here in there. I really still don't think that it has hit me yet that I am going to be gone for a long time. I ran into a MTC worker today that said he served in our same mission and that it super hard and hot and he went through three pairs of shoes. ah scary. We have Spanish class every day for two block periods of six hours and it is none stop Spanish from the teacher no ingles. Its hard at time but will have its moments of easy
I know that I'm doing the right thing and that everything will get easier once I get the same routine down. Everyday here so far has been different besides waking up at 6:30 which isnt to bad. I love you all so much and wish you the happiest 4th of July ever!!!
email me at dearelder.com web page because they print the emails of everyday so I can get some mail daily and that way I can prepare what I'm going to write when my Preparation days come. next week it will be Friday when I get to email back but I only have 30 mins.
Love you all very much
Adios
Hermana Burnett
P.S. sorry if this doesnt make sense typing all the great and hard things that happen here in less then 30 mins is super hard.
