When school started I got to know Katy Wilson and Sydney Rosell from my ward because they needed a ride to church which I was fine with since they lived right by me. It turned out that we got along really well and became really good friends. We ended up going everywhere together because they didn't have a car. We were hanging out one day in September and some how came about looking up our names on Urban Dictionary and the word posse which stated "your crew, your hommies, a group of friends, people who may or may not have your back".  (We begin laughing so hard). We decided to tell Brother Patton who is our second counselor in the bishopric about our day and finding the word posse and how that's what we were going to call ourselves. So Bro. Patton wanting to be cool asked to join the posse so we let him and his wife in and then decided we need nicknames. Katy and Syd decided upon the nicknames fast for everyone except for mine which took them a whole month. So here are everyones Posse's Names-

•  Bro. Patton- Patty P (short for Patton and he's Irish)
•  Sis. Patton- B.O.C.(Bride of Chucky, because her hubby's a redhead)
•  Katy- KiloWatts (her initials KW)

 I am so glad that I got to know these two girls they have truly been great friends to me this semester. I am so grateful for them and all the wonderful memories that we created this fall and will truly miss them. I love you both tons, thanks for being such great support to me through all my hard and good times and for helping me with my callings.  Thank you Bro and Sis Patton for treating me like a daughter/younger sister ;) You both have helped me grow my testimony over this last year. I am so thankful for everything you have done for me and will miss you both tons. Thank you for all the great laughs, temple trips, dinners, and long stories!! Thank you for looking out for me and for trying to find me a guy in the ward Patty P!!  Thank you POSSE for a wonderful 2010 year you all are extremely important to me and have helped me become spiritually stronger. Love you all!!

Elder Bills and Me

Being in the Northridge 3rd Ward has allowed me to become really involved with missionary lessons. All the missionaries in this area are so awesome and have truly helped me decided to serve a mission. I am so grateful for all the friendship they have shown me. Elder Johnson serves in our family ward that we share the building with and he is the one of the most happiest elders I have met. He always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude. We were joking around  how I have only seen him sad twice and once was last week which he remember every detail on why he was upset and today of course because he is being transferred. Elder Bills is his companion and he is more new, but we have some great stories involving Katy's attitude about Elder Bills replacing Elder Fairbanks. (haha ) Elder Bills is awesome he is from Michagan compared to a lot of the elders who are from Utah. He gets a little mad that I'm so tall because he is only 5'6" 3/4 or something like he stated once its because he's half mexican. hahaha

Thank you Elder Johnson & Bills for being such a great influence and for serving a mission!

I  tried to be more bold this year and ask guys out, lucky for me Jami had this activity planned to go to Newport and take a boat ride on Balboa Lake to look at all the Christmas lights on the boats and homes for 2 hours. So I think this will be a great chance to ask this new guy out in the ward and if it gets awkward other people will be there. So I nervously call the guy and ask him to go and he says YES!! I'm all giddy and excited and can't wait to see him that evening to talk about the details for Saturday. As we're at ward prayer he end's up leaving with out talking to me first like he promised. Come to find out he has a family emergency and headed back home to Las Vegas. I was so sad, but  he was a gentlemen and asked for a rain check. Luckily Katy was going out of town so I was able to ask Sydney to be my date, which she of course said yes. We drive an 1 1/2 down to Newport and get on this nice boat with a big group from our ward and head out on the lake. Sad to say not everyone got the memo that that all lights need to be up today so there were a lot of  boats and homes with out lights. However, the group we were with and my date Syd made the night so fun and we a great night!!  After we headed to Carls Jr. to get some fuel in our stomach because that boat ride was a little too long and then headed back home.

Katy Wilson is a girl who I met only 8 months ago as I spoke at her baptism not even realizing that 4 months later once CSUN started that we would become POSSE FRIENDS.. She is such a great and amazing person who is so fun to be around. She just turned 20 years old so to celebrate her birthday we went to City Walk to shop and have dinner. It was so much fun we took tons of pictures of random things we thought were funny or cute. I had the great idea to switch Syd cameras so that all the pictures she took with my camera I would be in them and same for her, BEST IDEA EVER!! As we walked around the area was decorated for Christmas so they had lights, fake snow, and these little pine tree with poinsettia in the flower boxes..(it was so cute, it felt like I was in Utah) One of candy stores had the worlds LARGEST Reese's Peanut Butter Cups which I love and so wanted to buy, but not for $19.99. I was able to buy a Dodger shirt so I could remember all my great baseball games and conversations about how DODGERS are better then the Giants. We had dinner at Johnny Rockets which was so yummy...  After we walked outside to the Christmas tree and took pictures music begin playing which Syd dared me to dance in public. So me being myself said yes which turned out perfect because the next song happened to be the Hanson Brother's song "MMM bop"on the big flat screen, so I danced and sang away. (hence the video below for evidence) After four hours of City Walk we headed home for birthday cake and watched the movie " Just Wright" which was stressing me out the first half, but ended perfectly!!

Final Project

For my sewing class final we had to put together a long sleeve button blouse that actual is fitted for us, so I was so excited since the skirt could only be sizes 8 or 10.  However the professor did not leave us enough time to complete this shirt. We started  cutting the pattern for this project the week before Thanksgiving  then had the next week off and then Dec. 3rd was the due date on the syllabus!! I was so freaking out in class because mine wasn't even close to being done. Luckily the professor realized that we started this late and that we wouldn't be done that day, so she gave us a another week. So  the following  Thursday for 8 hours I sewed, luckily it was going smooth,but still so hard and long. I completed my shirt and it turned out pretty good for such little time I had. I sadly sewed one of my arm sleeves on backwards and it is too small for me and she didn't teach us how to do machine button holes so it only has buttons. Overall though it was a great class and I learned so much from it. I enjoyed creating my projects even though they stressed me out.

I've always wanted to put together an Ugly Christmas Sweater party so I finally did for FHE!! I was so excited cause I hear about them all the time in Utah, but I have never been to one. So I took charge of this event and made sure people heard about it through Facebook and announced in Relief Society all excited and only 4 people show up in sweaters :( I was so sad I thought my ward would've overdressed not under, my committee members where all there and didn't dress up :( Anyways I guess the positive thing is there were 25 people, yeah boy!! My last FHE and I am in the 20s for attendance!!  It was also a white elephant gift party which everyone enjoyed. It was funny to watch the boys opening candles and lotions and then the girls stealing them away..

Birthday Weekend

Like I mentioned before, in my family we pretty much celebrate our birthdays for a few days and since I was Utah when I came back to California I had to celebrate it with my POSSE!! So we hangout  ALL Saturday!!! We went to Baja Fresh for lunch which I personally do not love, however their chicken quesadilla are so good, something about the way they are made makes me get them every time.. We then stopped at Target where Sydney picked out this ADORABLE dress which was on clearance and I looked hot in it so I bought it. We then went and got a pedicure and manicure!! Then went to Wendy's were Katy tried her first frosty and didn't even finish it .. Lastly we went to the mall to watch "Morning Glory" which was funny and cute. We got there early so we walked around the mall and then asked this high school girl to take a picture of us in front of the beautiful Christmas tree they had in the foyer and this is the picture we ended up with 30 feet of sidewalk and the bottom of the big tree..

Overall a WONDERFUL Saturday with the POSSE!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

I love birthdays and I especially love mine because its around Thanksgiving allowing me to be home with all my family and most of my friends!! I also love my birthday because I get to celebrate it like for three days !!  I turned the BIG 23!!  The day before  I got to do some crazy BLACK Friday shopping with my mom and aunts, I later then got to go to the doctor for my face. We then had a birthday lunch to celebrate my cousin Kameo and mine at Zoupas. The next day was really my birthday in which dad made me breakfast and then later went to see "Megamind" with me :)  I spent the rest of the day with my dad and later that evening went and had dinner with some good friends.

Thankful and Grateful

Ah,  thanksgiving was so awesome I love this time of year so much!!  The leaves are changing and the weather is cooler allowing for scarves,sweaters, and boots!!  I had a wonderful thanksgiving I was able to spend it with all my family: parents, brothers, cousins ,aunt ,uncles, and grandparents and family friends...

I'M GRATEFUL FOR... 

1. Family is what I am so grateful, they all truly complete my life in every way

2. The gospel, which has truly opened my heart and spirit this last year

3. Friends,  they all bring so many great things into my life and push me to be my best

4. Health, even though I visit the doctor a lot I'm truly grateful for my body and being able to play volleyball with no injuries

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! 

An eventful Utah trip

 I drove up Saturday the 20th to Cedar City and planned to stay the night and leave the next day to go to P.G., but as a welcome home present it decided to snow really bad. Which ended up being okay because I got to visit with Megan and spend time with the Young family. Because of the snow storm I had to reschedule by missionary dentist appointment to Tuesday in which the day my car decided to lock it self making me late to the dentist. Anyways I got my mission dental exam after fixing a cavity which left half my mouth number for the following 4 hours!!! :(

          I have been wanting to dye my hair again (but was nervous because last year I broke out from the hair dye had a swollen face like "Hitch") so I figured this year would be different because my mom has her beauty licenses and we were not using the Loreal from Walmart. Yeah, NO!! I got a rash on my neck first and  totally got scabs in my scalp again and then had my right side of my face blow up like "Hey Arnold"  not good, except my face wasn't to bad this time.  Later Tuesday night I went to Kameo's surprise birthday party with my numb mouth so I didn't get to eat many sweets, but enjoyed playing pictionary with everyone. Wednesday I meet up with Drew Bradbury and got to have lunch with him at Cafe Rio which is the best !! It was so much fun to sit and talk about everything . Luckily my face hadn't begin swelling or maybe it was and Drew was to nice and didn't say anything.

   After visiting the Redlands Temple I drove over to my Grandpa's home to visit him and my cousins. As I waited my Grandma Peggy called and said "she on her way so  be ready so we can go see a movie". We went to see "Unstoppable" which was a very intense true story that was like the movie "Speed". After walking out of the movie theater  grandma wanted to go back in and watch another movie. Oh she reminded me of my mom, who loves movies even seeing them back to back. Grandma talked non stop the whole time that I was there, I never knew how much information my grandma had bundled up in her.
   That evening she made me go through this pile of gifts in which I tried to refrain from saying yes to everything. Don't worry I'll write the list of gift I received.  The next morning she had so many ideas planned for us to do that day she couldn't  decided. I sadly wasn't feeling the best that Sunday morning so that stopped us from going up to Bear Lake and viewing the area. She took me to the San Bernardino County Museum which has the most different birds and eggs. Later that evening we got  a hold of my cousin Larissa  whom I haven't seen in 5 years. We had dinner together and saw the  movie "127 hours" about the climber who cut his arm off in Moab, Utah in 2003. Overall a very great weekend, I was able to meet my cousin Jeffery for the first time and to see my grandpa which has been over two years..  I love that I have family so close!!

Saturday was a beautiful day, Bro. Patton put together a temple trip to Redlands which happens to be right next to my grandparents. So I was able make two great visits over the weekend!! The Redlands Temple was so pretty and small and has the outward appearance like Mt. Timpanogos. The inside was so white and bright full of windows which is different compared to the Los Angeles temple that we frequently visit.  It was a great day and I am so thankful for Brother Patton and how he is always making appointments for us to visit the many temples that we are surrounded by.

Boxing Workout

We did a boxing workout for Relief Society Meeting this month thanks to Tiffany Larson, a new girl in our ward is training to become a professional boxer.  A big thanks to Syd for suppling the boxing gloves and target gloves. Before everyone got there we had to test the equipment out first in which we found out that Katy isn't the best puncher more of a cat fight girl.  It was great to have 14 of the girls show up and all excited to be punching and letting out angry against the bag. I have to say my shoulder were very sore the next day from the intense workout P.S. I do not know if I should be admitting this or not but I changed my first flat bike tire today. Yes, I know I am 22 years old and now changing it for the first time.. I'm LAME I know.

 I was sure glad I had nothing planned because grandma had scouted out a place for us to meet and she was serious. Oh she is the cutest grandma ever I truly love her and I am so grateful for her!! So of course I got a little lost trying to get there after missing my exit but I made it. We had a great dinner and talked about how my grandma is headed to Mongolia in May just after my graduation. We then talked about the church, which I believe was the first time that I have really spoken to either one of them about .
